Armadillo World Headquarters

Venue of the first ever concert (supporting "Moxy") in the US on Wednesday July 27th 1977, during the tour to promote the "Let there be rock" album. The Armadillo was an influential music hall in Austin, opened from 1970 to 1980, demolished in 1981 and replaced by an office building. The legendary Frank Zappa’s “Bongo Fury” and many others successful live albums were recorded here.
